This community project was completed in June 2010 at an open weekend where children of various ages were invited to take part.
Inspiration for the picture was taken directly from what can be found at Stanwick Lakes including the plant life, insects and birds.
The image was broken down into 15 smaller panels to allow for many children to work on the image at the same time. I then fixed the pieces back together before grouting.
We had approximately 60 participants helping over the weekend – the youngest was 3 years old, the eldest 78. It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend and a great time was had by all!
The finished picture measures 70cm by 1333cm and is on permanent display in the visitors centre at Stanwick Lakes.
